Clinton High School offers a variety of Communication Arts classes, one of which is Career English. This class, taught by Haylee Clark, prepares students who are planning to enter directly into the workforce after high school. One requirement of this class is for students to job shadow in the career field in which they intend to be employed someday.
When student Jake Donahue wished to job shadow at Sherman Plumbing & Heating Co, his teacher reached out to see if they would be interested in hosting him. Without hesitation, Sherman’s welcomed Jake into their business.
Jake had a great experience, and even though he was only required to stay for half of a day, Sherman’s allowed him to stay an entire day to learn even more! “Jake got to get his hands into some furnaces and learned how to wire the low voltage wiring into a furnace. He said he enjoyed it and we enjoyed having him,” said Steve Hadley with Sherman’s Plumbing and Heating.
We appreciate our community partners for continuing to provide our students with top-notch experiences such as this!
