Leeton R-X School District Superintendent Adam Easterwood made an appearance this week on national television program Good Morning America with actor Matthew McConaughey and other educators, as part of a featured story highlighting ways in which McConaughey’s Greenlight Grants Initiative has benefitted their schools.

A press release from AASA, the School Superintendents Association, states that “Superintendents Laurie Barron (Evergreen School District 50, Montana) and Adam Easterwood (Leeton R-X School District, Missouri), along with education experts Dr. Sharon Lynch and Dr. Gisele C. Shorter, discussed how Matthew McConaughey’s Greenlight Grants Initiative has significantly improved their schools. Their districts saw marked improvements in student performance, behavior, and attendance.”

The University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation posted on Facebook: “A huge shout-out to UCM alumnus Adam Easterwood, ’04 and 07, who appeared on “Good Morning America” this morning with Matthew McConaughey!
Adam, who is the superintendent of Leeton (MO) R-X School District, wrote a grant through McConaughey’s Greenlights Grant Initiative, which helps districts apply for grants to improve school safety and student well-being.
Adam applied for a Stronger Connections grant for Leeton to get a behavioral specialist, school/home social worker and leadership program. Adam’s wife, Allison Easterwood, is a 2010 UCM Social Work grad.”
