NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Clinton High School recently inducted 30 students into the National Honor Society (NHS). This is in addition to the 22 students who are second year members of the organization (a list of member names can be found in the images below). This year’s officers were also installed: Mikalah Scott (president), Mia Bagley (vice-president), Olivia Goehrig (secretary), and Belle Clifton (historian)
More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Induction into the National Honor Society is a prestigious distinction awarded only to the most proficient students. Few students are nominated for induction, and even fewer are accepted. Nominated students’ applications are meticulously reviewed and discussed amongst the Faculty Council.
Students must have obtained at least a 3.5 GPA, a clean slate from any discipline issues, and demonstrate all the principles that serve as the foundation of the organization. These young leaders are also giving back to their school and community by completing two group service projects and ten hours of individual service. For these reasons, induction into the National Honor Society is considered the greatest honor.
NHS sponsor is Shasta Hetherington.
