
The Depot Taco Salad Lunch will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 serving 11:00-1:00. The salad with toppings, drinks and a variety of homemade cakes all for $10, will be served at the historic MKT Railroad Depot. You may dine in or carry out. All proceeds are used by the Appleton City Museum for the maintenance of the Depot, Historic WH Appleton Library, Moore School and Museum.
Growing In Grace Community Center, 117 W 4th St, ACMO is sponsoring a community dinner featuring food and music August 2. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, corn, homemade bread, salad bar and dessert will be served 3:00-6:00 p.m. Music will be provided by Freedom Tabernacle Church from Osceola and James Damon from 4:00-6:00 p.m. They will also have a kids’ fun day August 16 with food, games, cotton, candy, slushies and more, including balloon twister at 4:00 p.m. Both events are donation only.
Missouri’s back-to-school sales tax holiday is August 1-3. Items exempt from sales tax include: clothing with a taxable value of $100 or less per item, up to $50 per purchase of school supplies, up to $350 of computer software, personal computers or related devices up to $1,500 and graphing calculators up to $150.
The Knights of Columbus will have their monthly pancake and sausage breakfast at the Knight’s Hall in Montrose on Sunday, August 10 from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Treat your family to a hot breakfast you don’t have to cook or clean up. A free will donation will be greatly appreciated
The next Second Wednesday, Meet Me On Main Shop and Stroll will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., August 13. You can congratulate Jina’s Junque on its 2nd anniversary. Participating businesses include Jina’s Junque, 3 Wishes, 4th Street Fika, AC Library, Cork & Keg, A.C. T.N.R. and other vendors.
There will be an Appleton City Kids Day in Forest Park, 12:00-8:00 p.m. August 23. Activities include water slides, bounce house, carnival games, pony rides and K-9 demonstration. Delicious food and treats will be available for purchase. Kids of all ages are welcome.

The AC Fall City Wide Garage Sale dates have been set for October 3 and 4. Information regarding permits will be posted at a later date.
