The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC), will host a vital community awareness event on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 1531 North Vansant Road in Clinton.

The event is open to the public and aims to unite law enforcement, first responders, faith and community leaders, health service providers, and professionals in mental health, behavioral health, and addiction services. The goal is to foster a proactive and collaborative approach to preventing, responding to, and recovering from the opioid crisis impacting Missouri and communities nationwide.

The discussion will include a focus on opioids such as Fentanyl, Heroin, Morphine, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Codeine, Methadone, and Tramadol, with special attention to the growing connection between Fentanyl and human trafficking.

Organizers emphasize that everyone has a role to play in creating safer, healthier communities. No registration is required to attend, and families, friends, and colleagues are encouraged to come.

“This event is about bringing people together across disciplines and backgrounds to build understanding and drive change,” said Sheriff Aaron Brown. “Your voice matters.”
