Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Local Business Growth, Community Events, and More in Weekly Update

The Greater Clinton-Area Chamber of Commerce continues its commitment to supporting local businesses, celebrating milestones, and promoting community involvement in its latest weekly update.

Grand Openings & Ribbon Cuttings

This week saw two new businesses officially open their doors in Clinton. On Friday, July 25, the Chamber hosted a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Holly’s Kitchen, located at 1000 Watson Parkway. Holly’s Kitchen offers a scratch-made breakfast and lunch menu, along with freezer meals, take-and-bakes, and more. The new eatery is open to the public year-round and can be found on Facebook or reached at 660-383-1122.

Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, July 23, a ribbon cutting was held for McKinley Tire & Auto, now operating at 922 N 2nd Street, the former location of Loyd’s Tire. New Chamber Member Welcome

Gathering House Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

Call for Ag Person of the Year Nominations

Nominations are open for the 2025 Ag Person of the Year, recognizing outstanding contributions to agriculture in the Clinton area. The award will be presented during the 52nd Annual Ag Appreciation Dinner and Auction, scheduled for Monday, August 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Benson Center. Nominations are due by Monday, August 4. Forms can be returned to the Chamber office at 200 S. Main Street.

Ag Dinner Sponsorships Open

The Chamber is also seeking sponsors for the upcoming Ag Dinner through its Pacesetters Sponsorship Program, offering various recognition levels and benefits. Businesses can support local agriculture while treating area farm families to a pork chop dinner and evening of recognition and giveaways. Deadline for sponsorships is August 13.

Community Recognizes Dr. Gus Wetzel II

The Clinton Rotary Club and Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare are honoring Dr. Gus Wetzel II as he prepares to retire on July 31 after more than 50 years of service. A long-time Rotarian and healthcare leader, Dr. Wetzel’s legacy of “Service Above Self” leaves a lasting mark on the community.

Truman Lake Community Foundation Grant Cycle Opens

Nonprofits are invited to apply for the 2025 Fall Cycle of the Truman Lake Community Foundation beginning August 1. Applications are due September 2 and are open to eligible 501(c)3 organizations, schools, churches, and government entities.   • Clinton-themed magnets are now available at the Chamber office for $5—great for souvenirs or gifts.

  • Job postings: Chamber members can share job openings for free on the Chamber’s Facebook page. Non-members may also participate for a small fee.

  • Meeting space available: The Chamber offers a conference room for members free of charge, with a small fee for non-members. It’s equipped with Wi-Fi, Zoom capability, a big screen TV, kitchenette, and restrooms.
