hc-genalogical575482

The Henry County Genealogy Library is delighted to announce that it has received a generous donation of $15,000 from the West Central Genealogical Society. This significant contribution comes as a result of the disbanding of the West Central Genealogical Society and reflects their commitment to preserving historical and genealogical resources.  The Henry County Museum Genealogy Library is one of 10 counties that is being awarded funds.

The donation check was officially presented on June 13, 2025, to Meredith Cooper, Museum Director, in a ceremony attended by members of the Historical Society Board. Representing the West Central Genealogical Society and presenting the check were Mike Shaw and A.J. Heck. Their dedication to ensuring the funds support the continuation of genealogical work in the region is deeply appreciated.

The Henry County Genealogy Library also wishes to acknowledge the contributions made to the West Central Genealogical Society by its generous donors, Mr. Wilbur Kephart and Ms. Mary Abair. Their support made this impactful donation possible and will leave a lasting legacy in the field of genealogical research.

This donation will enable the Henry County Genealogy Library to further its mission of preserving local history and supporting individuals in their genealogical pursuits. The library looks forward to honoring the legacy of the West Central Genealogical Society through its ongoing work.
