The City of Clinton will conduct a full-cycle test of its outdoor storm siren system on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. The test, originally scheduled for last week, was postponed due to inclement weather.

During the test, residents can expect to hear the sirens sound continuously for approximately 60 to 90 seconds.

City officials emphasize that outdoor storm sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors and may be away from other alert systems such as TVs or weather radios. While some residents may hear the sirens indoors—depending on their proximity to a siren—officials stress that the system is not intended to be a primary indoor warning tool.

For reliable indoor weather alerts, residents are encouraged to use NOAA weather radios, which are considered the most dependable source for receiving storm warnings inside homes and businesses.
