Tornado Outbreak Leaves Many throughout West Central Missouri in Devastation

Southeast Henry County is being described as nothing short of a war zone following a catastrophic tornado outbreak that swept through the region. On Monday, multiple tornadoes touched down across Henry, St. Clair, and Benton Counties, leaving behind widespread destruction that emergency crews say will take far more than a single day to assess.

Local emergency management teams, alongside the National Weather Service, have been on the ground surveying the damage—some areas too dangerous or inaccessible to fully evaluate just yet.

The American Red Cross has been dispatched to assist displaced families and residents who are now without power—many of whom may remain in the dark for days, possibly weeks.

Support has also been pouring in from critical partners. Crews from MODOT and Osage Valley Electric Cooperative have been working around the clock to clear blocked roadways and restore electricity to affected areas.

Residents are urged to stay clear of heavily damaged zones and allow crews the space they need to work safely and efficiently. More updates will be provided as damage assessments continue and recovery efforts move forward.
