Henry County Courts Recognize Juror Appreciation Week

Juror Appreciation Week is during April 27th through May 3rd.

Jury service plays a crucial part in our judicial system, and we would like to thank those that are doing their civic duty to provide impartial and fair verdicts.  Jury service is not convenient and disrupts one’s personal and business life, but preserving the right to have a jury trial of our peers is very important.  This right is guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and Constitution.  The Court as well as the parties, community, legal system and all of those involved very much appreciate your jury service.  Henry County jurors have not only had to serve on Henry County cases, but they have sat on jury trials for cases that have originated in other counties.  It is imperative that jurors are impartial, and sometimes it is necessary to go outside the originating county to get those impartial jurors.  Since January 2024, Henry County Jurors have served on 2 murder cases, and three cases that charged individuals participating in sexual acts with children.  Jurors have decided cases with assault charges, resisting arrest, armed criminal action, as well as others charges.  Henry County jurors have awarded over $30,000,000.00 in civil verdicts in 2024 and 2025.  Again, thank you jurors for stepping up and taking your responsibility serious.  We recognize your sacrifice and thank you for the service that you have provided.

From:  Wendi McGhee, Circuit Clerk
