
The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners wrapped up one of the most successful seasons in program history. SFCC (24-7) earned its fifth trip to the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship and captured the Region 16 Tournament title. The team’s success resulted in postseason recognition across multiple levels.
Sophomore forward Kayla Sullivan of St. Louis and freshman guard Malia Rodgers of Montgomery City were named to the All-Region 16 First Team. Freshman forward Ellie Buscher of St. Louis and freshman forward Shae Wright of Grandview earned All-Region 16 Second Team honors. The awards are voted on by Region 16 coaches.
Rodgers and Sullivan were also named to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference First Team. Sophomore guard Madison Johnson of Harrisonville, sophomore guard Kimora McClure of Austin, Texas, and Buscher earned Second Team All-Conference honors.
Sullivan played in 31 games and started 23, averaging 10.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists. She scored in double figures 15 times.
Rodgers started all 29 games she played, averaging 11.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists. She scored in double figures 19 times.
Buscher started all 31 games, averaging 9.6 points and 7.9 rebounds, with 19 double-digit scoring efforts.
Wright appeared in 30 games, averaging 8.0 points and 5.3 rebounds.
Johnson started all 31 games, averaging 8.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. She scored in double figures 12 times.
McClure played in 30 games, starting 17. She averaged 8.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and a team-best 3.1 assists. She scored in double figures 13 times.
