The Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the Garden City Fire Department were dispatched to a home on South O’Bannon Road at approximately 10:47 p.m. Sunday.
When first responders arrived, they found the residence fully engulfed in flames and heavy smoke, making it impossible for deputies to enter the home.
Emergency Medical Services and fire crews worked quickly to battle the blaze.
Once the fire was brought under control, firefighters discovered two deceased individuals inside the residence.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal and the Cass County Fire Investigation Team are investigating the cause of the fire.
The East Lynne Fire Department, Creighton Fire Department, Harrisonville Fire Department, and the Central Cass Fire Protection District also responded to the scene to assist in the effort.
The victims identities have not been released.
