This week (March 10th & 11th), The Department of Natural Resources along with Triangle Environmental, Sunbelt Environmental Services, & Evergy took soil samples and tested water at numerous locations around the former KCP&L Montrose Power Plant.
5 Samples were taken at each of the locations. One each for DNR, Triangle, Sunbelt, and two for Evergy.
At the Davis school, 5 different locations were sampled including the ditch, both playgrounds, the track, and one location that the school requested to be tested.
Water samples were taken from Montrose Lake, the out flow (Deepwater Creek), and the intake for Truman Lake. Slug samples were also collected from the bottom of Montrose Lake.
