BRANSON, Mo. — Silver Dollar City is growing again. The expansion will be the development of 1,200 acres adjacent to Silver Dollar City, a massive upgrade to the 100 acres the theme park currently sits on.
A news release says “The Next Chapter Begins”. The announcement will be made on Oct. 17, 2024 at 3 p.m. and will be the largest investment in the company’s 65-year history.
It is not clear if the expansion is for Silver Dollar City alone, or part of the Herschend Family Entertainment Group. In Branson, Herschend Enterprises also owns White Water, Dolly Stampede, Pink Jeep Adventure Tours and Showboat Branson Belle.
In 2023, Silver Dollar City announced the construction of the new Fire in the Hole. The ride is the heartland’s largest indoor rollercoaster, costing around $30 million. The new and improved Fire in the Hole opened in the spring of 2024.
