unnamed-3976609

The 2024 Summer Reading Program is coming to an end at the Henry County Library. The final
adventure of the summer will take place this Saturday, August 3 rd , from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Foam My
Party (www.foammyparty.com) celebration in the library parking lot. The Summer Reading Program
officially ends on Saturday, and all participants’ final reading minutes must be submitted by 5:00 p.m.
prior to the celebration to be eligible for the grand prize drawings.
The goal of the Summer Reading Program is to encourage children and teens to read over the summer
months to avoid losing reading skills and to make it fun so that they develop lifelong reading habits. A
total of 348 readers registered for this year’s program. To date, a total of 114,144 minutes have been
logged throughout the summer.
Once again, the library would like to thank the local and outreach sponsors for their generous
donations as well as for the funding provided by the Summer Library Program 2024 grant
awarded by the Missouri Secretary of State.
