A New Sheriff in Town!

aaron-3281804

Henry County has a new Sheriff.  Former Deputy Sheriff Aaron Brown has taken the reins of the Henry County Sheriff’s department.

Brown was sworn in before a crowd of well over 100 citizens in the Henry County Courthouse by Henry County Clerk Rick Watson as Interim Sheriff until the current term ends on December 31, 2024, finishing the term begun by retiring Sheriff Kent Oberkrom. Brown began his law-enforcement career under the retiring Oberkrom, and has previously served as the Under Sheriff in Johnson County, Missouri. Oberkrom, who served for 27 and 1/2 years as the Henry County Sheriff, decided earlier this year not to run for reelection and has accepted an appointment by Missouri Governor Mike Parson to the Missouri State Probation and Parole Board. Oberkrom’s resignation from the remainder of his term as Henry County Sheriff will take effect at midnight of July 25th, and Brown’s role as Interim Sheriff will officially begin at 12:01 AM on July 26th and end on December 31, 2024. Brown is running unopposed on the November ballot for the office of Henry County Sheriff. Once elected by voters, the sheriff will be sworn in for the new term for that election effective January 1, 2025.

We at Radford Media Group would like to thank Sheriff Oberkrom, his wife Diane, and family for their many years of service to the citizens of Henry County and welcome the new era of Sheriff Aaron Brown, his wife Kennedy, and family.
