If you are a customer of Ameren or Liberty for your electrical service, you can expect to pay more for your service starting in June. The Public Service Commission has approved a rate increase for both of the utility companies. The Public Service Commission has approved a rate increase of $.84 per 1000 Kilowatt Hour of use for Empire Energy dba/ Liberty. Ameren customers the increase will be $1.45 per 1000 Kilowatt Hour for their residential customers. Both companies site higher fuel cost for the rate increase. Both request have been approved and are scheduled to take affect June 1.
