Firefighters Honored by Clinton City Council

On January 29, 2024 shortly after 9:00 am, the Clinton Fire Department was dispatched to a grain elevator in Clinton, MO for a young man who became trapped in a grain bid while performing maintenance. Upon their arrival, Clinton firefighters found the individual in the center of a large grain bin buried to his chest in corn. Our firefighters immediately went to work putting their training and equipment to use to free the young man from the bin. After just over two and a half hours, incident command was able to report that the young man had been removed from the grain bid successfully and transferred to the care of Golden Valley EMS.
On Tuesday night at the Clinton City Council Meeting these firefighters were recognized for their efforts on that day in January.
