Apartment Fire in Lowry City, MO

On Thursday, 9/21/2023 at approximately 4:03 PM, Lowry City Fire was called to 500 Tower St. in Lowry City for an apartment fire. At 4:07 PM LCFD responded with 3 trucks and 7 firefighters. Upon arrival at 4:10 PM fire crews advised fire and heavy smoke coming from apartment 1 and heavy smoke from the roof area of the whole building. Captain Travis Hill and Lt. Bill Barnett made entry to apartment 1. After entry was made and the fire was knocked down, the inside crew evacuated due to rapid deterioration of the inside structure. Outside crews vented the roof and finished putting the fire out. The fire was under control at 4:32 PM. All fire crews cleared within 2 and a half hours. Lowry City Fire Department would like to give a big thank you to St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, Appleton City Fire, Ico Fire, Sac Fire, Deepwater Fire, CMH Medic 8 and Ellet 7101. One person was sent to the Hospital with burns to their body.
