The Depot Taco Salad Lunch will be 11:00-1:00 August 9 at the historic MKT Railroad Depot. Taco salad, variety of homemade cakes and drinks are just $8. Served dine in or carry out. All proceeds used for the maintenance of the Depot, W H Appleton Library, Moore School and Museum.

The Knights of Columbus will have their monthly pancake and sausage breakfast at the Knight’s Hall in Montrose on Sunday, August 13 from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Treat your family to a hot breakfast you don’t have to cook or clean up. A free will donation will be greatly appreciated
MU Extension Ag Field Specialists are working together to provide a workshop titled “strategies to build a sustainable forage and livestock operation” 12:30 -5:00 p.m. August 3 at the Forest Park Building, 206 East 5th Street, Appleton City, MO 64724. MU Extension Ag Field Specialist will discuss management strategies for livestock and forage operations to utilize as they deal with and recover from drought.
The Appleton City Fair will be August 19. Events include the Baby Show, toddler swimsuit contest, kids games, pitch tournament, cornhole tournament, petting zoo, face painting, dunk tank, street dance, bounce houses, gellyball course and the parade at 5:00 p.m. Food options include biscuit & gravy breakfast, funnel cakes, kettle corn and Rockville reubens. The St. Clair County Historical Society invite you to join them 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10 at the St. Clair County Historical Museum (upstairs), 660 Main St, Osceola, as Jr. High history teacher, Jason Levine, will offer a free presentation about the Lead Belt Mining Riots of 1917.
AG minister, Ray Todd, will share at River of Life Fellowship in Rockville Sunday morning, August 6. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship following at 10:15. An offering will be taken to bless the Todd family. All are welcome to come and worship with them. River of Life is located at the corner of 2nd and Vernon Streets in Rockville.
The AC Fair Committee is having an AC Fair 2023 fundraiser drawing for ½ hog with processing. 2 winners will be drawn on August 19 at the Fair. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The winners will receive ½ hog with basic processing. Delivery to Heatherington’s in Clinton is provided. Winners will need to make arrangements to pick up processed meat once it is done. The Appleton City Optimist Club is holding flag football (grades 1-6) and volleyball (grades 4-6) signups until August 6. There will be no late signups, so make to sign up as quickly as possible online at the Appleton City Optimist Club facebook page.
The Appleton City Carousel will only be open 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday-Sunday until Labor Day weekend. They will then be closed until Memorial Day Weekend 2024. This summer they have welcomed visitors from 14 states and 1 foreign country.
