WELCOME TO THE CARDINAL TEAM
Let’s welcome this Cardinal alum BACK to the CSD! Clinton High School is excited to have Jessica Shaffer join their team where she will be a rootEd College and Career Access Advisor.
Jessica, a 2005 graduate of the CSD, received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Business from Central Methodist University, and is currently enrolled in UCM’s Masters program for School Counseling.
For the last seven years Jessica has been the Career Service Coordinator/Counselor for the Leeton School District where she assisted students with post-secondary planning, FAFSA and scholarship completion, and scheduled college/career visits and applications. She also served as the District Testing Coordinator, A+ Coordinator, Off-Site Work Coordinator, and worked closely with UCM and SFCC in order to provide dual enrollment opportunities for Leeton students. While at Leeton she developed and implemented the Look Before You Leap Program in 2019. This program allowed junior and senior students to job shadow, providing them with additional career insights through partnerships with area businesses.
Jessica and her husband, Ryan, live outside Leeton with their four children. All three of their sons participated in the Clinton Youth Football program from 3rd through 6th grade. Now, Jessica and Ryan are busy with their children’s sporting events as they all participate in sports (baseball, basketball, softball, and tumbling). Their free time is often spent camping with family and friends in Warsaw.
“Being from Clinton, I am excited to return to the area and work with Clinton students and future graduates. I look forward to being a positive source of encouragement and assisting students in reaching their future goals. I am passionate about building relationships with students, parents, post-secondary institutions, and community members in order to enhance the future for all students.”
