The Clinton School District gives a great big Clinton Cardinal welcome to Jennifer Umland who will be a school nurse in the Clinton School District this year.
Jennifer, originally from Oak Grove, MO, is bringing 36 years of medical experience to our Cardinals. She began her career as a Combat Medical Specialist in the Army right after high school. Following this, she worked in a doctor’s office and as an EMT as she completed nursing school. She then worked as an LPN for 12 years before going back to school to obtain her RN. She has been a Registered Nurse for 16 years.
Jennifer’s husband, Andrew, works for LifeFlight Eagle as a flight medic. They have four children and five grandchildren. Jennifer enjoys spending time supporting local veterans, and is a member of the local VFW. She is a member of Northeast Baptist Church where she teaches the youth Sunday School class. Over the years Jennifer has also participated in various medical mission trips to Iraq, Bangladesh, and Ukraine. Jennifer and her family have hosted 11 different foreign exchange students. During the summer Jennifer loves getting out on the boat and fishing.
“I’m excited to be able to work in the school district that my children have attended, and now my grandchildren are going through. I admire the teachers and collaborative spirit they carry out. I’m looking forward to a change in direction and getting to work with children again.”
