The 19th Annual Appleton City Car Show will be July 8 in the City Park, right off 52 Hwy across the street from Zink Motor Company. Check in is 8:00 a.m.-noon. Car Show is from noon-3:00 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee, with proceeds going to two $1000 scholarships for local high school students. This is a judged event. Top 70 cars and trucks combined, top 3 motorcycles, and top 3 rat rods. There will be goodie bags, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, food vendors, lots of shade and an air conditioned building. Car Show T-Shirts are now available for sale at Tru Value Lumber.
River of Life Fellowship in Rockville is hosting a 24 hour worship service Saturday, July 1 into Sunday, July 2. Evangelist Mark Oswald, and his wife Rachel, from Shawnee, Oklahoma, will be present and ministering three times during the worship service. They will begin Saturday around 12:30 p.m. with some light snacks and an overview of the planned meeting. Mark will preach that afternoon and they will have interspersed times of worship and prayer throughout the evening and overnight. Coffee will be available throughout the night as well (say Hallelujah!). They will also have a light meal that evening followed by a youth centered service near 7:00 p.m. Other area ministries will be attending and involved throughout the evening. It is a come and go as you are able to worship the Lord and be encouraged. They will take Communion Saturday evening, as well as again on Sunday morning. Full breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, followed by regular Sunday School, and morning worship service with Mark sharing the AM message. An offering will be taken to bless the Oswalds. All are welcome to come and worship in a first ever type of event for the area, as they seek the Lord for 24 hours.
The AC Cemetery was robbed last weekend. Someone broke into the storage shed and stole 2 Stihl weed eaters, 1 hedge trimmer and 1 blower. If you know anything about this, or if someone tries to sell these items to you, please contact City Hall or the St Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
The AC Fair Committee is having an AC Fair 2023 fundraiser drawing for ½ hog with processing. 2 winners will be drawn on August 19 at the Fair. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The winners will receive ½ hog with basic processing. Delivery to Heatherington’s in Clinton is provided. Winners will need to make arrangements to pick up processed meat once it is done.
