The City of Clinton’s Parks & Recreations department announced Thursday, April 6th that the indoor Aquatic Center at the Benson Center will be closed until further notice. In a separate announcement, they clarified that “all swim lessons, water aerobics classes, parties, [and] swim team practices are canceled until further notice. We are working on refunds.”
The exact reason for the pool closing was not stated explicitly, but Parks & Recreation posted online Friday, April 7th that “a contractor will be at the Aquatic Center tomorrow [Saturday, April 8th] to assess water valves and pumps. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the mechanical issues.” The agenda for the Public Works Committee Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 11th lists an item to discuss a “report on Aquatic Center valve malfunction and status of pumps and motors.”
Construction continues on the pool house renovations for the outdoor pool at Artesian Park.
